The Deptartment of Defence has released this image showing an IAI Heron operating in RAAF service in Afghanistan recently.
Under Project Nankeen, Canadian firm MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates is providing Heron Unmanned Aerial System services under contract, with the aircraft operated by a small RAAF detachment based at Kandahar airfield.
