Viva Macau will increase its frequency of services from Macau to Melbourne from once to twice weekly and temporarily suspend its Sydney flights from March 28.
“While it is disappointing to suspend flights to Sydney, we will maintain peak season flights and will actively monitor the route for re-commencement of year-round services,” said Viva Macau CEO Dr Reg McDonald. Sydney services are due to resume from next December.
“Viva Macau’s decision highlights the strength of the Melbourne market and the airport’s partnership approach in bringing more direct flights to our state,” Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff said.
