Airservices supports RA-Aus scholarships

written by WOFA | February 12, 2010

Airservices Australia has announced a new partnership with Recreational Aviation Australia (RA-Aus) which will see the air traffic management provider fund 10 scholarships each year for three years to assist students undertaking flying training through RA-Aus.

The Giving Young Flyers Training Support scholarships will be open to students aged 15-20 and provide $2500 to assist with the costs of flying training undertaken through RA-Aus members. To be eligible, students will need to demonstrate an aptitude for flying, a commitment to aviation, and financial need.

Airservices spokesperson Rob Walker said the agreement recognised the essential role played by RA-Aus as part of a vibrant, growing Australian aviation industry. “We’re proud to support the work of the organisation as they help young people learn to fly, operate safely and possibly consider a future career in our industry,” he said.

“This agreement is part of our wider contribution to the aviation industry in general and we look forward to building on this association with RA-Aus.”

More information about the scholarships is available on the RA-Aus website.
