Turkey and Australia have signed a new bilateral air services agreement, effectively opening the way for direct flights between the two countries for the first time.

The arrangements will immediately allow carriers to launch up to five times weekly services between the two countries, as well as allowing for codeshare arrangements with other airlines through an intermediate stop.
