Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) has been granted accreditation by the Commonwealth as an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) for the RAAF’s F/A-18F Super Hornet fleet.
The accreditation authorises BDA to provide engineering support to the RAAF’s 24 F/A-18Fs through a combination of local and US based engineering services and capabilities.
“AEO certification is a significant achievement, as it acknowledges Boeing Defence Australia’s compliance with the RAAF Technical Airworthiness Regulatory framework and will enable the company to provide critical engineering services to the Australian Defence Force,” Murray Brabook, BDA’s director of Platform Maintenance said in a statement. “Becoming an AEO is an important component of Boeing Defence Australia’s Super Hornet support capabilities, and is the result of excellent teamwork and collaboration between Boeing and the Commonwealth.”
The first five RAAF Super Hornets commenced their delivery flight from California on March 19, and are due to arrive at Amberley some time next week.
