Pacific Blue has lodged an application with the International Air Services Commission (IASC) to increase its services to the Cook Islands.
The airline has requested rights to operate two additional services between Australia and the Cook Islands for a period of five years, which would be progressively introduced and fully utilised by April 1 2011. The services would be operated by the airline’s Boeing 737-800s.
Pacific Blue currently operates three weekly services to Rarotonga from Auckland under its Australian designation, and it is expected that the additional frequency would be operated in the same manner. Pacific Blue is currently the only Australian carrier to fly to Rarotonga.
