Pacific Blue has announced that it will commence twice weekly services between Brisbane and Queenstown from June 25 to September 12.

“We know that many Queensland skiers currently fly via Christchurch to get to Queenstown so we’re sure they’ll be delighted to be able to get across the ditch in a single hop,” said Virgin Blue Group CEO Brett Godfrey.

To launch the services, the airline released a limited number of one way fares from $249 one way until March 11.

Pacific Blue also operates services from Sydney and Auckland to Queenstown, which the airline says saw strong loads due to good snow conditions during the 2009 ski season.
