QAL passenger numbers up in February

written by WOFA | March 18, 2010

Queensland Airports Limited has recorded strong growth over the three airports it operates during February, with overall passenger volumes up 18 per cent.

The biggest growth was experienced at Mount Isa Airport, which saw an increase of 28.1 per cent to 14,530 passengers, which was attributed to increasing activity in the resources industry. Gold Coast once again benefited from a strong international market, with volumes up 18.7 per cent. Townsville saw a 14.6 per cent increase in passenger numbers.

“We are pleased with the passenger results for February, traditionally a quieter time of year for travel. It is very positive to see growth in each of the airports in the QAL Group,” said QAL managing director Dennis Chant.
