CASA restructures management

written by WOFA | April 30, 2010

CASA has made some changes to its management structure, in line with its 2009 corporate plan.

Under the changes, Terry Farquharson has been appointed as acting deputy director of aviation safety, supporting CEO and director of aviation safety John McCormick in a range of strategic and executive functions. Farquharson will also be directly responsible for a number of areas including accident investigation liaison, the CASA safety management system and Australia’s state safety program.

The regulator has also appointed its former executive manager legal services Jonathan Aleck to the now role of associate director of aviation safety. In this role, Aleck will work with Farquharson to oversee the further development of regulatory and governance policies and practices. In addition, Greg Hood has been appointed as executive manager, operations; Peter Fereday as executive manager, industry permissions; and Gary Harbor as executive manager, corporate services.
