A Boeing 737-200 landed at Jandakot Airport on April 24 where Perth’s Polytechnic West (the former Swan TAFE) will use the ex OzJet aircraft (N732HV) as a non flying static training aid.
“Polytechnic West’s Boeing 737 is a high quality training asset which will be used to train local and overseas engineering students who are considering a career in the airline and air transport industries,” said director of PWA’s Aerospace Centre McKie.
The 737, reportedly the largest aircraft to land at Jandakot, retains its full 100-seat airliner interior, and joins Polytechnic West’s Beech Barron and Cessna 340 training aids.
“The jet will be maintained in a fully serviceable condition at Jandakot Airport, the location of the Polytechnic’s new Aerospace Training Centre,” McKie said. “The Boeing will also allow PWA to undertake a range of non-engineering skills training, including cabin crew safety and ground handling.”
