Qantas has announced that its Frequent Flyer program has now attracted more than seven million members.

Qantas says that since a relaunch of the program in July that there has been a 32 per cent increase in memberships. Other major enhancements to the program since then, such as the addition of ‘Any Seat’ redemption opportunities and a partnership with the Woolworths Everyday Rewards program, have also attracted new members.

Since its restructuring into a separate business within the Qantas Group, Frequent Flyer has been a star performer, and has recorded consistent profit growth. While it was being prepared for an initial public offering in 2008 by previous Qantas CEO Geoff Dixon, current CEO Alan Joyce has noted that Qantas intends to retain the business due to its strategic importance to the Group.
