The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a possible sale of 10 Boeing C-17A transports to India.

The notification states the deal is worth US$5.8bn (A$6.3bn) which includes the aircraft, spares, training, support and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) fees. Importantly for Boeing and possible future sales, the 10 aircraft would effectively extend the C-17 production line at Long Beach in Los Angeles for a further 12 months, taking total C-17 production to 258 including 223 delivered to or on order for the USAF.
