The General Atomics Predator family of unmanned aerial systems logged its one millionth flight hour during operations over the Easter weekend.
Comprising the Predator A, the I-Gnat, the ER/Sky Warrior and Predator B/Reaper UAVs, the milestone was recorded in just under 80,000 missions, 85 per cent of which have been flown on operations.
GA-ASI estimates that at any time of the day, more than 40 Predator UAVs are airborne worldwide, the majority of which would be in the Afghanistan, Middle East and Horn of Africa regions. The Predator family is currently being built at a rate of eight aircraft and seven ground stations per month, and are logging almost 30,000 flight hours per month.
