The RAAF’s first A330 MRTT (KC-30A) tanker currently undergoing certification testing in Spain has successfully ‘buddy’ refuelled the second RAAF KC-30A in flight.

The milestone demonstrates the type’s flexibility to conduct long endurance and long range refuelling as well as its ability to pass fuel to and receive fuel from other large aircraft.

The two aircraft are involved in the type’s certification program, with aircraft 2 expected to be the first KC-30A delivered to the RAAF later this year.
