Airlines PNG picks up new contract

Airlines PNG has been awarded a contract by Esso Highlands Limited to provide a dedicated charter aircraft to support the Papua New Guinea Liquefied Natural Gas project.

Under the two year agreement, the carrier will operate a dedicated Dash 8-103 to transport field personnel and freight within Papua New Guinea. The aircraft will also be available to provide medivac operations to Australia from Port Morseby, while domestic services will operate between Port Moresby, Gobe, Tari and Moro.

“We are excited by the opportunity to be involved with EHL on this project and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship throughout the contract term,” said an Airlines PNG spokesperson.

Airlines PNG also recently announced that it has secured the use of a Lockheed L100 civil Hercules which will be used to carry outsize freight to support the PNG LNG project.
