AVIC works on one and two tonne helicopter designs

written by WOFA | June 29, 2010

China’s Avicopter, part of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) group, has completed the design of its two tonne AC311 while it continues design work on the one tonne AC310.

The AC311 will soon enter the manufacturing phase with the first prototype expected to be ready in time for China’s Zhuhai airshow in November.

Both the AC311 and AC310 will feature composite fuselages and rotor blades.

Avicopter flew its 13.8 tonne AC313 for the first time on March 18.
