Canada took delivery of the first of 17 Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules transports at Trenton Air Base in Ontario on June 4.

The aircraft, all stretched C-130J-30s and designated CC-130J in Canadian service, will replace C-130E and H models and will be operated by 8 Wing.

The first aircraft was delivered six months ahead of schedule and five more are planned to follow this year. All 17 should be in service by the end of 2012.
