Airbus Military has handed over the first of five C295 tactical transports to the Mexican air force, joining two C295s already operated by the Mexican navy.

Meanwhile, an order for one additional C295 for the Finnish air force, to join two already in service, takes C295 sales to 82 aircraft ordered by 13 different operators.

The C295 is a likely contender for the Air 8000 Phase 2 project to find a long term replacement for the RAAF’s recently retired Caribou tactical transports.
