Lockheed Martin successfully tested its Scorpion GPS guided glide munition from a C-130 Hercules on June 17 at the Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona.
The lightweight Scorpion is designed to be employed from multiple platforms from AC-130 gunships to UAVs against structures, personnel, lightly armored vehicles, trucks, cars, missile launchers, and artillery or gun positions with little collateral damage, and features folding wings and fins for tube launches, and a Semi-Active Laser (SAL) for terminal guidance.
