Tiger adds more Avalon routes

written by WOFA | June 15, 2010
Tiger Airways continues to expand.

Tiger Airways Australia has announced another set of routes it will operate from its Avalon base, with Sydney, Rockhampton, Mackay and Alice Springs to be linked to the airport near Geelong.

According to Tiger’s online schedules, the airline will operate twice daily to Sydney, three times a week to Alice Springs and Rockhampton and four times weekly to Mackay starting from November 10. Tiger has also announced flights from Avalon to Perth, the Gold Coast and Adelaide

“Our new Avalon base now has seven new routes and we are thrilled at the customer response. More and more Australians are choosing to fly with us every day,” said Tiger Airways Australia’s managing director Crawford Rix.

The new services to Rockhampton, Mackay and Alice Springs appear to have been moved from Tiger’s main Tullamarine hub, with online schedules showing no flights from Tullamarine to those destinations after November 10.
