The USAF Global Hawk Block 40 has completed envelope expansion flight testing at its Edwards AFB test facility.

The Block 40 has been designed to operate with the Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program (MP-RTIP) sensor installed in a large ‘canoe’ fairing on the aircraft’s lower fuselage.

After development testing aboard a Scaled Composites Proteus testbed, the first MP-RTIP has been delivered to Edwards and is expected to be integrated onto a Global Hawk for operational evaluation later this year.
