HFMod project wrapped up

written by WOFA | July 11, 2010

Boeing Defence Australia has announced it has completed delivery and installation of the ADF’s Project JP 2043 High Frequency Modernisation Project (HFMod).

The announcement follows acceptance of the capability in May and formal notification from the DMO of the project’s completion.

“This final milestone indicates all system requirements have been met and the Commonwealth is confident this Modernised High Frequency Communications System is providing the Australian Defence Force with a secure, cost effective, strategic high frequency communications capability,” said Steve Hudson, Boeing project manager, HFMod project.

The fixed long range communication system offers a secure exchange of information between fixed and mobile stations through a single integrated system, and will be progressively rolled out across the ADF’s various platforms over the next five years.
