JSOW C-1 completes captive carry tests

written by WOFA | July 26, 2010

Raytheon and the US Navy have successfully conducted a series of captive carry tests of the AGM-154 JSOW C-1.

The C-1 adds a moving maritime target capability and two-way Strike Common Weapon Datalink (SCWDL) to the standard JSOW GPS guided glide weapon, and the three captive flights demonstrated the C-1’s ability to detect moving maritime targets in flight.

The RAAF and US Navy have ordered the JSOW C-1 for employment from F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, and the weapon is expected to enter service in 2012.
