Singapore Airlines has announced that it will operate a second daily A380 service on the Singapore-Sydney route during the northern winter scheduling season.
The 471-seat A380 will operate on SQ231/222 in place of a 278-seat Boeing 777-300ER from October 31. Despite the increase in capacity, SIA will still operate four daily services between Singapore and Sydney.
As a sign of the recovery in air traffic, SIA has announced some major increases in capacity on long haul routes over the northern winter schedule, with services from Singapore to Los Angeles, Moscow and Houston, Munich and Manchester to rise to daily from five times weekly. It will also increase frequency on the Singapore-Seoul route from four times a week to daily.
