Sydney Airport ups fees for GA

written by WOFA | July 20, 2010

Sydney Airport has increased its charges for general aviation aircraft after negotiations with the Australian Business Aircraft Association (ABAA) and the Overnight Freight Operators Association.

Under the new charging regime, GA and business aircraft will now pay $4.72 per tonne for takeoff and landing charges, while helicopters will pay $33 per movement. Designated apron charges have also risen to $38.50 per 15 minutes, while GA apron parking starts at $110 per calendar day for aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of up to 20 tonnes and goes up to $264 for aircraft with more than 40 tonnes MTOW. All prices include GST. The new charges have been in effect from July 1 2010.

“The satisfactory resolution of this issue demonstrates again that normal commercial negotiations are the best way for the pricing of aviation infrastructure to be agreed,” Sydney Airports Corporation said in a statement.
