New taxi waiting area opened at Brisbane

written by WOFA | August 26, 2010

A new taxi call forward area at Brisbane Airport has been officially opened, with the new space providing parking for up to 350 taxis to wait before progressing to the terminals to collect passengers.

The taxi call forward area houses state-of-the-art facilities for drivers, including approximately 350 fully shaded parking spaces for taxis to wait to be called to the terminals, a cafe, prayer rooms, flight information display monitors, CCTV security, a parkland eating area, as well as toilet and shower facilities.

The new facility is part of a $4.2 billion infrastructure program being undertaken by Brisbane Airport Corporation, which also includes the recently opened northern access road and expansion of the airport’s international terminal.
