RUAG Aerospace has announced that it has received EASA certification for the Do228 New Generation aircraft, with the first new build aircraft to be delivered to a Japanese customer shortly.

The 19 seat Do228NG is based on the Dornier 228-212, but features Universal Avionics EFI890 glass displays, higher powered Honeywell TPE331-10 engines,  five blade MT Propellercomposite props and another 300 enhancements to its various systems.

RUAG first launched the Do228NG program in 2007 and has been slowly gaining customers for the reborn aircraft from around the world. At least one aircraft has been ordered by an Australian operator.
