Strategic Airlines’ inaugural service from Brisbane to Port Hedland and Denpasar took off on August 3, with the airline already looking to add more frequency to the route.

The Brisbane based airline is operating an Airbus A320 on the route, which is configured with 12 business and 144 economy seats. Flights currently depart Brisbane every Tuesday at 9:05am, arriving in arrive in Port Hedland at 12.55pm. The Port Hedland-Denpasar service will depart Port Hedland every Tuesday at 2.35pm and arrive in Denpasar at 4.50pm.

Strategic’s head of commercial, Damien Vasta, said that the airline has received strong backing for its new services, and was looking at operating a second weekly service on the route from September. “We have already seen a high level of uptake on both the Brisbane-Port Hedland and Port Hedland-Denpasar routes, and we will increase our number of flights to meet demand in the future,” he said.

Strategic also flies to Denpasar from Perth three times per week, and has recently applied to the International Air Services Commission for an increase in its allocation of seats on the Indonesia route.
