Boeing Australia has signed a contract with the DMO to provide repair and refurbishment work for the RAAF’s F/A-18A/B Hornet fleet.

The work will comprise the refurbishment of flight control surfaces, doors and panels for the ageing Hornet fleet at Boeing’s Component Repairs facility at Tullamarine in Melbourne, and includes the replacement of aluminium control surface hinges and brackets with stronger and longer wearing titanium components.

The agreement is a formal extension of a previous ad hoc arrangement.
