Australian company Production Parts has launched a new contract with Pratt & Whitney to manufacture key components for the F135 engine which powers the F-35 JSF.
The new production agreement was launched at a ceremony attended by Victorian Deputy Premier Rob Hulls. The agreement will see Production Parts produce the high compressor case for the F135.
“Production Parts has been producing engine components for Pratt & Whitney from the start of the F135 program, and continues to demonstrate its ability to deliver quality components, on time, to meet the needs of our customers,” Stacey Himler, F135 international program manager at Pratt & Whitney, said at the launch ceremony.
Production Parts specialises in CNC machining and a range of engineering, repair, maintenance and overhaul services for the aviation and defence industries. It also recently won a contract from Boeing to supply rudder pedal kits for the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet.
