PAL cuts Brisbane flights

written by WOFA | October 18, 2010
Philippine Airlines is reducing Australian services.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced that it will cut its Brisbane flights and reduce its frequencies to Melbourne, although it still regards Australia as a key market.

PAL will end its services to Brisbane on October 31, and at the same time will reduce its frequency to Melbourne from five to three times weekly. Its Sydney-Manila route will remain unchanged at five times weekly services.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said that the cuts were due to “market conditions and the onset of the lean season.” Nevertheless, the airline says it has a long term commitment to the Australian market.
