Qantas tops on time performance

Qantas has again recorded the highest rate of on-time departures during September, according to the latest industry report from the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE).

For the month Qantas recorded an on-time departure rate of 84.1 per cent. This was followed by Virgin Blue at 79.1 per cent, Jetstar at 76.4 per cent and Tiger Airways at 65.1 per cent. The regional airlines were led by Regional Express at 89.4 per cent, followed by Skywest at 88.6 per cent and QantasLink at 78.1 per cent.

Virgin Blue recorded the highest rate of cancellations, at 2.2 per cent, followed by Tiger Airways (1.3 per cent), Qantas (1.2 per cent) and Jetstar (1.1 per cent). With the regional airlines, QantasLink recorded the highest cancellation rate at two per cent, followed by Regional Express (0.1 per cent), while Skywest recorded no cancellations for the month.
