QantasLink has announced that it will expand its schedule to the Queensland mining centres of Emerald, Moranbah and Roma from October 18 to support growing demand from the mining industry.

“We have consulted with the mining industry, and have added some ongoing extra capacity and some peak period capacity which will operate from 18 October-18 December,” explained QantasLink executive manager Narendra Kumar.

The additional capacity will see QantasLink increase from 27 to 30 times per week its Brisbane-Emerald services, 15 to 18 times per week on Brisbane-Roma and one additional service for a total of 12 per week on Brisbane-Moranbah. All services will be operated with a combination of 50-seat Bombardier Q300s and 74-seat Q400s.
