The 2011 Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition at Avalon near Geelong will turn the spotlight on the future direction of defence capabilities.
Show organisers say for the first time there will be a dedicated demonstration facility for unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles and intelligence surveillance reconnaissance systems, offering industry a unique opportunity to showcase their capabilities on a national and international platform.
“Unmanned vehicles are providing crucial support to defence operations around the world and will be a key feature of future defence capabilities,” Airshow CEO Ian Honnery said. “Avalon 2011 will be one of a handful of airshows at which companies can now give a full operational demonstration of their unmanned technologies.”
The show will run from March 1 to March 6 2011.
