Airbus CEO Tomas Enders has bailed out of the troubled A400M, literally!

Enders, a champion skydiver, was one of 10 parachutists along with A400M program manager, Bruno Delannoy, who jumped out of the third A400M development aircraft near Seville in Spain as part of the aircraft’s development program.

“It was an enormous pleasure for me to experience the excellent qualities of the A400M for paratroop operations,” Enders said after the jump. “Paratroopers serving with our customer nations can be confident that the A400M will provide a far superior platform for their operations in future.”

European partner nations in the program recently ratified a new funding agreement which will see the program move forward and deliveries commence in 2013.
