Qantas has received route approvals  from the International Air Services Commission (IASC) which will allow it to commence services from Australia to Nairobi via Bangkok in association with Kenya Airways

According to two IASC Determinations, Kenya Airways will be permitted to place its code on Qantas operated services between Sydney and Bankgkok, while Qantas will be permitted to codeshare on seven weekly Kenya Airways services from Bangkok to Nairobi. Nonetheless, both Determinations are subject to the IASC separately approving the codeshare agreement between the two carriers.

Both airlines have planned to commence codesharing from November 15.
