Hammonds named as Boeing CIO

Kim Hammonds has been named chief information officer (CIO) and vice president of Boeing’s Information Technology organisation.

Hammonds, formerly vice president of Boeing Information Technology Infrastructure organisation, will replace John Hinshaw, who will be moving on to be vice president and general manager of Boeing’s new Information Solutions division in Boeing Defense, Space & Security.  Hammonds’ new role involves being responsible for all IT strategy, systems, infrastructure, architecture, processes and people at Boeing.

Hammonds, 43, has a long standing background in Information Technology (IT), having worked as director of Americas Manufacturing Operations for Dell, and prior to that, director of Manufacturing Systems for North America for Ford motors, where she served 16 years with the company. Hammonds joined Boeing in August 2008 as vice president of Boeing IT’s Business Systems organisation.
