Jetstar launches Darwin to Manila service

written by WOFA | February 11, 2011

Jetstar has launched Manila services.

Jetstar launched its direct Darwin to Manila service on February 9.

The launch of the new tri-weekly A320 service bolsters the airline’s expanding pan Asian network, with Jetstar already flying up to 18 times a week between Singapore and Manila and Qantas four times a week between Sydney and Manila. Flights to the Philippine capital are the fourth international destination added to Jetstar’s Darwin flying hub, and add 50,000 annual seats for passengers in the Top End.

“Anticipated success for the route forms our latest chapter in Jetstar’s strategic Pan Asian network growth plans that continue to include growing low fare flying directly between Australia and Asia,” Jetstar Australia & NZ CEO David Hall said.

Hall was present on board the inaugural service to Manila, together with a Northern Territory government delegation led by NT trade minister Robert Knight and representatives from Tourism NT, Charles Darwin University and the International Business Council.

The Manila route sees Jetstar now flying to 56 destinations in 14 countries worldwide.
