Boeing has celebrated the second anniversary of the 777 freighter’s entry into service by highlighting the type’s strong in-service performance.

According to the manufacturer, the global fleet of 39 777 freighters currently in service with nine airlines has amassed approximately 120,000 flying hours and has a daily utilisation of 11.34 hours.  Schedule reliability has also been outstanding at 99.37 per cent, mirroring the high dispatch rate for passenger 777s.

In January an Emirates 777 Freighter was involved in a landmark nonstop flight between Stewart International Airport in New York and Sydney carrying a load of horses. The 17.5 hour flight is the longest in Emirates’ history.
