COMAC (the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) has signed a long-term strategic cooperation (LSC) framework agreement with Bombardier to cooperate on commercial aircraft development, marketing and support.

Signed in Shanghai on March 24, the LSC will see COMAC and Bombardier share technology, knowledge and expertise in aircraft manufacturing, and collaborate in marketing, customer relationship and customer support strategies. Both manufacturers will also evaluate the potential to cooperate on their C919 and CSeries programs, as well as joint procurement and collaboration on future Bombardier and COMAC product lines.

“COMAC is pleased to work closely with Bombardier to efficiently identify areas of mutual collaboration and explore future endeavours. Both our companies have specific strengths that, when combined, will enhance the competitiveness of our respective aircraft programs and businesses as a whole,” COMAC chairman Zhang Qingwei said.

“We believe that this collaboration will generate positive results for both the C919 and CSeries aircraft programs. It also opens the door to further cooperation on any other projects that would be mutually beneficial,” Bombardier president and CEO Pierre Beaudoin said.
