written by WOFA | March 28, 2011
Strategic is deploying a new reservations system.

Strategic Airlines has contracted Emirates Group IT services business Mercator to provide its new reservations and sales distribution IT platform, to be deployed later this year.

The airline will use Mercator Asia’s Avantik system, which covers reservations, GDS connectivity, internet bookings, online check-in, departure control and frequent flyer capabilities.

“As a brand new RPT airline with a phase one business model, we are seeking new generation airline management solutions with the flexibility to grow as we do, supplied by companies which understand our business” Strategic Airlines chief information officer Bob Kane said.

“The Avantik system is built on modern, scalable technology and will deliver immediate benefits to Strategic in the areas of direct distribution and an enhanced capability to serve the needs of our passengers, travel agency partners, corporate accounts and caters for our future grow plans.”
