Boeing 787 launch customer All Nippon Airways (ANA) has become the first airline to begin pilot training on the aircraft, with 10 pilots undertaking classroom instruction in Tokyo during early Apri, followed by simulator training at Boeing Flight Services (BFS)’s campus in Seattle, Washington, from April 23.
“The start of customer training is an exciting milestone on any new airplane program,” BFS vice president, Sherry Carbary said.
“We worked side by side with ANA for more than four years conducting simulator evaluations, curriculum reviews and cross-training so that each team learned from the other.”
Boeing says 777 pilots can transition to the 787 in as few as five days, Boeing says.
