Embraer confirms E-190 sales in China

written by WOFA | April 14, 2011

A three way agreement has been signed between Embraer, CDB Leasing Co and China Southern Airlines for a second batch of 10 Embraer 190 E-Jets, following on from an earlier deal for 10 of same type signed in January. In addition, a Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed between the three parties for a further 10 E-190s.

China Southern is due to receive the first of its E-Jets in the second half of 2011.

Meanwhile, Hebei Airlines has signed an order for 10 E-190s, as the airline looks to meet growing demand for regional air travel in China’s Hebei province. The first E-190 is due to be delivered by September 2012.

In all Embraer holds firm orders of 135 aircraft from Chinese customers, comprising 75 E-190s, 46 ERJ-145s and four executive jets. To date, more than 80 Embraer aircraft are in service in China.
