The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) has announced a new scholarship for 2011, with Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey sponsoring the opportunity for an aircraft engineer to work at its German facilities.
Valued at $10,500, the RAAA Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey Powerplant Maintenance + Overhaul Scholarship will be awarded to a current LAME or final year apprentice who has demonstrated a commitment to the Australian aviation industry. The successful scholarship winner will receive 14 days of either CF34 or PW100 engine orientation training with Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey in Germany, including boroscope inspections, assembly of piece parts and modules, rotor balancing and engine testing.
RAAA CEO Paul Tyrrell said that the addition of the RAAA-Lufthansa scholarship extended “the already strong level of scholarship assistance available through the RAAA”, which includes the association’s Ansett Aviation Training Pilot Scholarship, Jeppesen Pilot Scholarship, Jeppesen Avionics Scholarship, and Michelin Airframe Scholarship.
