Virgin Blue has launched a kerbside entrance and kerbside valet service at its Sydney Airport domestic terminal for its business, premium economy and Velocity Gold members, which the airline says is a first for Australian domestic travel.

“For our guests who choose to use the premium entrance and valet service, the trip from their car to ‘The Lounge’ will be very quick and simple. They will be able to step out of their car, check in, go through security and be in the lounge without having to enter the main departures hall of the airport,” noted Virgin Blue group executive of product and guest services Martin Daley.

The new service comprises kerbside drop‐off, optional valet parking, and direct entry to the ‘The Lounge’ via a dedicated security screening point for passengers with carry‐on baggage only for check‐in. Premium passengers with bags to check can use the valet service, but will continue to use priority check‐in counters inside the main departures hall.

Premium lounge entry and valet services will operate Monday to Friday from the western end of Terminal 2 at Sydney Airport. Valet rates start from $27 for one hour or $70 for one calendar day.
