Bombardier has reported that its new mid-size Learjet 85 has transitioned from the ‘detail design’ phase to the ‘build, test and validate’ phase, ahead of first flight in 2012 and service entry in 2013, following an aircraft level critical design review by the Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT) in April 2011.

“The Learjet 85 aircraft program has entered a new phase and is progressing towards entry into-service with great strength,” Bombardier Business Aircraft vice president, Learjet 85, Ralph Acs, said.

Bombardier currently has 1300 employees working on its Learjet 85 program, spread across four sites in Belfast, Querétaro, Montréal and Wichita.
