Boeing announces Australian leadership changes

written by WOFA | June 6, 2011

Boeing has announced key senior leadership changes to its Australian businesses which see Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) COO Kim Gillis become vice president and managing director of BDA, and current BDA vice president and managing director John Duddy taking up the post of managing director of Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA).

Gillis will be responsible for all BDA activities in the global defence market, and will work with Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s head of business development for Australia, Bill Profilet. Meanwhile, Duddy will oversee BAA’s Fishermans Bend and Bankstown operations, focused on designing, testing, manufacturing and assembling aircraft structures, including composite components for commercial and military applications.

“Gillis brings a strong understanding of the Australian defence customer, making him well suited to lead Boeing Defence Australia through its next chapter,” Boeing Australia and South Pacific president Ian Thomas said in a statement.

“During Duddy’s tenure, BDA successfully executed several significant projects, including the final delivery and acceptance into service of the Vigilare and High Frequency Modernisation programs,” Thomas  added.
