written by WOFA | August 15, 2011

Thai Airways has confirmed an order for four Airbus A350-900s and five A320s, and will lease eight A350-900s and six A320s.

Selected as part of Thai’s fleet modernisation program, the airline will fly its A320s on domestic and regional routes, while operating the A350-900 on long haul services to Europe.

Thai’s recent acquisition follows the delivery of the first A350 XWB carbon-fibre reinforced centre wing box to Airbus’s St Nazaire, France facility, where it will be attached to the first A350 XWB fuselage.
