The US Navy’s F/A-18 Hornet flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels, have performed for the first time powered by a 50/50 blend of biofuel and jet fuel.

All six of the Blue Angels’ Hornets were powered by a camelina based biofuel blend during their display routine at at this year’s Naval Air Station Patxuent River Air Expo show on the weekend, as the Navy moves ahead with plans to field a non-fossil fuel powered carrier strike group by 2016.
