Qantas has announced it has commenced work on developing a new uniform for its cabin crew and ground staff.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce told media on October 5 that the old uniform was due for a “refresh”, and said is would see a new, distinctly Australian look designed for Qantas’ customer service employees.
“We are talking to a range of Australian designers over the next few months and we will confirm the selected designer early next year,” Mr Joyce said. “Qantas has always supported Australian design and excellence and we look forward to working with another leading Australian talent to develop the next instalment of the Qantas uniform. The Qantas uniform represents part of the Qantas brand identity and will reflect the exciting changes in progress for the airline.
The current Peter Morrissey-designed uniform was introduced in 2003 and updated in 2008, while the new uniform will be designed with the close involvement of employees. “We will invite feedback from our employees which will be incorporated into a brief for the designer,” Joyce added.
